Obituary for Doris J. Kinkela
Doris J. Kinkela, 80 of Burgettstown, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017.
She was born February 14, 1937 in Burgettstown, a daughter of the late William P. and Mildred L. Harris Baker.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Kinkela was employed as the secretary to the principal for Burgettstown School District for 33 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and sewing, but mostly spending time with her family.
On October 22, 1955, she married John “Kinky” Kinkela, who died April 12, 2011.
Surviving are her daughter, Luanne (Dave) Hughes of Burgettstown, her son, John “Bill” Kinkela of Burgettstown, her sister, Arletta Zelenko of Burgettstown, her grandchildren, Brandon (Dana) Maltony, Lacey (Mac) Simpson, and Devon Hughes, her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Jean Simpson, Max and Mia Maltony, her sister-in-law, Mamie Baker, and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is a brother, Harry Baker.
Friends will be received from 2-8 pm Friday, October 6, 2017 in the Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, October 7 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. George Moneck as celebrant. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Burgettstown.
